Beer, burgers, and Pride, June is going to be an awesome month!
As the weather starts to look like summer and as more and more people get vaccinated, more events will be taking place in the city. June is Pride month so many activities involve celebrating the diverse spectrum of sexuality and the LGBTQ+ community, but also enjoying the outdoor patio season that is upon us. Without further ado, here are some exciting events happening this month!
1. Savor Pride-themed cocktails while supporting LGBTQ+ charities
Support the LGBTQ+ community in a unique way! Order a special “Cocktail for a Cause” at these specific Philly bars, that have organized themselves to each sell one of 8 cocktails, each one a color of the Pride flag. With each order, a portion of the purchase will go to a local LGBTQ+ charity.
2. See the Lil Nas X mural
Located on the Writers Block Rehab wall, artist Ashey Ryan was commissioned to paint iconic queer black singer Lil Nas X from his music video Montero (Call Me By Your Name). This mural in the Gayborhood is a tribute to fierce, outspoken artists who express who they are with their proud voices.
3. Visit a virtual gallery celebrating LGBTQ+ artists
The William Way LGBT+ Community Center celebrates queer artists through its virtual gallery. There are currently 6 exhibits showcasing LGBTQ+ artists that you can visit from the comfort of your own home, providing a COVID-free activity to commemorate Pride.
4. Celebrate Pride at the Please Touch Museum
The Please Touch Museum is hosting special Pride events for children! On June 11, children can participate in an interactive storytime by iconic Philly drag queens. Children will also learn about the science of the rainbow and create their own in an Art Studio Activity.
5. Join the Doylestown Pride festival
Doylestown is planning multi-day events from June 13 to 19, celebrating all things Pride. With outdoor film screenings, music parties, art shows, and surprise pop-up events to be organized throughout the week, this is going to be a super fun way to celebrate Pride and enjoy the beautiful June weather!

Philly Pride Run has organized its annual 5k or 1.5 mile fun run! Taking place between Sunday, June 13 at 10 a.m. and Sunday, June 20 at 10 a.m., participants will receive running swag when they purchase their admissions. This year’s prizes can be won by the top 3 fastest 5k runners and by the “most festive participants” of the 1.5 mile race.
7. Enjoy Philly Beer Week
Philly Beer Week is back from June 4 to June 13! Many events are planned to celebrate Philly’s rich history of beer making, as well the love Philadelphians’ have for a cold pint.
