Spring is on the horizon in the city and that can only mean one thing — Cherry Blossoms are ready to bloom in Philadelphia. Indeed, Philadelphia is home to a dazzling display of cherry blossom trees that make spring in the city all that much brighter and fun! This year, Philly’s cherry blossoms are predicted to hit peak bloom the first week of April. So if you want to put a little spring on your step (or your social media feeds) make sure to check out these blooming spots around the city which are full to the brim with vibrant cherry blossom trees!
1. West Fairmount Park
Undeniably, one of our favorite spots to catch a glimpse of the blossoming sakura trees is West Fairmount Park. Head on over to the Please Touch Museum where you’ll find multiple rows of radiant cherry blossoms or head on over to the Fairmount Orticulutral Center where you’ll find a very similar spectacle. But one of our absolute favorite spots may just be the stone gazebo, where the rows of vibrant cherry blossoms surrounding the gazebo make for the perfect picture moment.
2. Shofuso Japanese Cultural Center & Garden
Another great spot to see Philly’s sakura trees is, of course, the Shofuso Japanese Cultural Center also in Fairmount Park. This magical site is home to multiple cherry blossoms, including a decades-old weeping cherry tree, which lives right by the house’s koi-fish pond!
3. See Cherry Blossoms In Philadelphia Along Kelly Drive
Can there be anything more beautiful than a view of the Philly skyline and the Schuykill River framed by the blossoming cherry trees? Kelly Drive is home to a spectacular display of cherry blossoms which makes it the perfect spot for spending a sunny day surrounded by beautiful sakura blossoms and incredible views of the city. Additionally, for an optimal view of the trees head on over to the intersection of Girard Avenue and Kelly Drive, located just north recently re-lit Boathouse Row.
4. Drexel Park
Drexel Park is another great spot to enjoy the cherry blossoms with a side of breathtaking skyline views. Located by Drexel University, this former industrial site is now peppered with wonderful cherry trees that put a little spring on everybody’s steps this time of year!
5. See Philadelphia Cherry Blossoms At Morris Arboretum
Located in NorthWest Philly, Penn’s Morris Arboretum is also a great place to view Cherry Blossoms in Philadelphia. It’s home to countless natural wonders including a gorgeous trail covered in cherry blossom trees! Moreover, it’s home to a gorgeous botanical garden to revel in the beauty of nature.
6. Longwood Gardens
Known for hosting one of Philly’s most dazzling holiday displays each year, Longwood Gardens is also home to a variety of cherry blossom trees. Here you’ll be able to bask in the blooming beauty of trees like the Okame Cherry and the Weeping Higan Cherry bloom which will leave you dreaming of sakura blossoms for days!
7. See Cherry Blossoms In Philadelphia Along Columbus Boulevard
The beauty of the Cherry Blossoms in full bloom along Columbus Boulevard are downright breathtaking. Whether you are driving, hiking, or taking a Spring stroll along the Delaware River waterfront, the pink flowers at there peak are hard to miss, and who would want to!
