Back in 1778, Yellow Springs made history when it became home to the first military hospital ever commissioned by the Continental Congress. Built to care for wounded and sick Revolutionary War soldiers, the hospital operated until 1781 and later continued serving the community.
🎬 And then, did it became a movie studio?
Yes. Though the original building burned down in 1902, its story didn’t end there.
In the 1950s, the rebuilt structure was used by Good News Productions, the company behind the cult classic The Blob starring Steve McQueen. It became known as Studio B, where editing equipment was housed -until the building caught fire again in 1964.
Today, visitors can still see the original stone foundation, a quiet and eerie spot that draws both Revolutionary War buffs as well as old-school horror fans.
