How to Stay Safe During a Tornado:
When a tornado warning is issued, take it seriously and act quickly.
Here are several tips to stay safe according to Accuweather:
🌪️ Tornado Safety Tips:
Go to the lowest level of your home—preferably a basement or interior room with no windows.
Avoid windows and exterior walls; stay in a hallway, closet, or bathroom if possible.
Use heavy furniture, cushions, or a mattress to shield yourself from flying debris.
If outdoors or in a vehicle, seek shelter in a sturdy building immediately.
If no shelter is available, lie flat in a ditch or low-lying area and cover your head.
Do not try to outrun a tornado in a vehicle—it’s safer to stop and take cover.
