Foodies and night owls, this one is for you! In collaboration with Raheem Manning, Director, Night Time Economy & Business Development for the City of Philadelphia, the Fishtown District is gearing up to host the first of it kind overnight food truck marketplace starting October 3rd, 2024.
Overnight Marketplace
Indeed, this is exciting news. The overnight food truck marketplace is a place where patrons throughout the region can enjoy an array of diverse cuisine while supporting Philly’s unique food truck culture. In collaboration with Raheem Manning, Director, Night Time Economy & Business Development for the City of Philadelphia, aka Philly first night mayor, patrons can expect a dynamic and safe atmosphere well into the early morning hours.
The overnight Market will make its grand opening at the lot behind The Fillmore on Thursday October 3rd and will feature mural art by Brad Carney.
The Fishtown District, dubbed by Vogue Magazine as “the best place to eat and drink in Philadelphia,” is the perfect location to launch this pilot program.
Late-night dining comes to Philly
Generally speaking, Philadelphia has struggled with food trucks operating after hours due to customers leaving taverns, causing an overflow of unruly behavior, large accumulations of dumped trash/refuse, and an excessive amount of noise from people and generators, respectively.
By securing a safe location in our commercial corridor that is set apart from residential properties, and allowing them to operate from 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., the Fishtown District and City of Philadelphia will establish the ideal destination for late-night dining.
The Overnight Market is an opportunity for local entrepreneurs to grow their businesses and build a lasting customer base. Moreover, the Overnight Market will activate a lively gathering with delicious food, locally crafted beverages, outdoor seating, artistic creations and entertainment.
🍔 Where: Located at The Fillmore Philadelphia’s Outdoor Stage Area, (25 East Allen Street)
