There’s a train winding through Bucks County this fall, but you won’t be boarding it for the scenery alone. The New Hope Railroad is turning its vintage cars into a 1920s-style speakeasy complete with cocktails, canapés, and plenty of old-school flair.
The approximately 90-minute Speakeasy Train takes passengers round-trip from New Hope to Lahaska. Guests will travel through the rolling foothills of Bucks County along the way. The experience takes place inside an authentic early 20th-century parlor car, where original-style mahogany woodwork, period lighting, and vintage décor help set the scene.
A fall train ride with a prohibition-era twist
Once aboard, guests can settle in at wooden tables and enjoy a selection of food and drinks while the train makes its way through Bucks County.
The food menu includes mini cheddar potato skins, cranberry Brie phyllo rolls, miniature crab cakes, and a chef’s choice dessert. The drink flight features four cocktails: a French 75, Old Fashioned, pomegranate Cosmopolitan, and espresso martini.
Additional alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will also be available for purchase during the excursion for an extra fee.
And yes, passengers are encouraged to dress for the occasion. Need, newsboy caps and beaded headbands fit right in with the 1920s theme.

The Speakeasy Train is a First Class 90-minute experience aboard a climate-controlled parlor car. Wooden tables and chairs accommodate groups of four, with seating available on a first-come, first-seated basis. Groups hoping to sit together are encouraged to share their seating preference before boarding.
