Neon lights, flaming desserts and some of the best Omakase in town, here’s what Morimoto has in store this winter!
We’re all about outdoor dining this winter in Philly — Even if the city is currently covered in snow! This winter, yurts, greenhouses and igloos are popping up all around the city and we’ve just found a new destination to add to our bucket list. Center City’s Morimoto is now offering guests the opportunity to enjoy their upscale Omakase-style dinner in fun neon chalets and we’re all about it!
If you’ve been to Morimoto before, you’ve probably noticed its totally awesome futuristic décor that gives the place a fun yet chic vibe. The restaurant has now taken its funky chic vibes on to the streets and has set up whimsical neon chalets that make dining outdoors at Morimoto as equally fun as dining inside. Illuminated with magical orbs and colorful lights, these outdoor chalets come with their own heating system and can sit 2 to 6 per party.
While dining inside one of Morimoto’s chalet’s you’ll be able to enjoy all of Chef Masaharu Morimoto’s exhilarating cuisine. Morimoto offers a wide array of dishes that draw from both ancient Japanese tradition and of-the-moment culinary technique and accommodates to all styles of dining all the way from a mix-and-match à la carte meal to a wonderful Omakase menu tailored especially for you.
We’re not going to lie though, our favorite part might just be dessert though! Among other mouthwatering options, Morimoto offers a flamming hot (never have we ever meant this quite so literally) chocolate tart that’s a feast for the eyes! This amazing dessert, which is sure to warm you right up, comes with brownie, burnt miso ice cream, toasted meringue and sesame.
In case you were looking for a totally romantic restaurant for Valentine’s Day, Morimoto is also offering a special VDay omakase menu that you can enjoy both at home or in house. Plus, if you do decide to check out Morimoto and its awesome chalets, the restaurant is also offering an after-dinner gallery experience with AFTER FOREVER, a solo exhibition of works by Adam Wallacavage. Totally romantic!
Morimoto is open Sunday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m. Their chalets require previous reservations, which can be done online and can accommodate parties of 2 guests for up to 9o minutes, parties of 4 for up to 2 hours and parties of six for up to 2.5 hours.
