Fans of dragons, Vikings, and epic adventures will soon be able to step directly into the world of How to Train Your Dragon without ever leaving Philly!
Beginning May 27, a brand-new immersive attraction called Dreamworks How to Train Your Dragon: Flight Academy will officially open inside the Universal Sphere at the Comcast Technology Center. The free experience invites guests to journey into the beloved animated franchise through cinematic storytelling, interactive elements and larger-than-life visuals.
Designed for visitors of alleges, the approximately 15-minute adventure transports guests to the Isle of Berk, the mythical Viking village made famous in the DreamWorks films.
Once inside, participants will train to become Dragon Riders alongside fan-favorite characters including Hiccup, Toothless, Astrid, and Stormfly.

The immersive experience blends projection technology, storytelling, and interactive moments inside the Universal Sphere, a dome-style theater attraction located in the upper lobby of the Comcast Technology Center.
Rather than simply watching the story unfold, guests become part of the action as they embark on a dragon-training journey inspired by the popular franchise. The experience aims to recreate the wonder and excitement of flying through Berk while surrounded by sweeping visuals and sound.
The attraction will remain open through Nov. 20, 2026, with extended summer hours planned throughout the season.
In addition to being completely free to visit, the experience will also be available in multiple languages including Spanish, Mandarin, French, German, Hindi, Portuguese and American Sign Language, making it accessible to a broad audience of visitors and families.
For longtime fans of How to Train Your Dragon —or anyone simply looking for a unique indoor activity in Philadelphia this summer— the Flight Academy experience offers a chance to step inside one of animation’s most beloved fantasy worlds.
