Pumpkin Season is officially here Philadelphians!
Changing leaves aside, is there something more autumnal than pumpkins? Probably not. Pumpkins are the predilect fruit of Fall (apart from apples), they’re in our lattes, our pies, cookies and even donuts sometimes. Nor is there something quite like a perfectly carved jack-o-lantern to get you into the mood for the spooky season. The versatile orange fruit is a total staple of Fall. That’s why we’ve put together this list of awesome pumpkin patches around Philly, so you can pick out the perfect pumpkins to suit all your fall cravings. Check ’em out!
1. Linvilla Orchard (33 mins)
This popular farm is home to thousands of beautiful gourds of all shapes and sizes. Although the farm doesn’t do PYO pumpkins you can still wander through their Pumpkinland to pick out your perfect pumpkin from over 100 tons of them! Linvilla also offers other awesome fall activities like PYO apples (closed until October 19), hayrides, corn mazes and they also have beautiful Jack-o-Lantern exhibits at dusk.

When: Linvilla Orchards is open Fridays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Sundays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. through 8 p.m.
2. Shady Brook Farms (37 mins)
FallFest 2020 is well underway at Shady Brook Farms. Come for pumpkin picking and stay for scenic wagon rides, a 5-acre corn maze (BYO flashlight after dark), bonfires, live music, spooky snacks, a barn of horror and all kinds of fall-tastic activities! Just make sure to book your timed tickets for Shady Brook Farms ahead of time.

When: Shady Brook Farms is open Wednesday and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
3. Active Acres Farm (44 mins)
During the day this farm offers awesome hayrides for $15 down to its pumpkin patches for you to pick out the perfect gourd. But if you stay after dark, Active Acres transforms into a spooktacular haunted playground with hayrides in the dark and a totally terrifying corn maze!

4.Milky Way Farm (46 mins)
Come for the pumpkins stay for the ice cream! If you’re a fan of ice cream then we highly suggest checking out Milky Way Farm. This Chester Springs Farm grows about 7 acres of pumpkins each year that are available for picking all the way through October 31 and is also home to an incredible creamery. So once you’re done picking up your pumpkins make sure to reward yourself with a velvety smooth scoop for all your hard work! Make sure to book your tickets ahead of time!

When: Milky Way Farm is open Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends.
5. Hellerick’s Family Farm ( 1 hr)
This lovely farm in Doylestown offers up to 55 different kinds of pumpkins, so you know you’ll find the perfect one for every occasion. Plus, there’s also a totally cool zip line, an obstacle race, an awesome corn maze and our personal favorite “goat yoga,” so you can relax with the help of some incredibly cute furry friends!
