Philadelphia’s biggest neighborhood summer celebration is back—and it’s taking over Northern Liberties for an entire day of food, music, shopping, and community. On Sunday, August 2, 2nd Street Fest returns for its 16th year, transforming 14 blocks of North 2nd Street into a lively street festival packed with more than 250 vendors, restaurants, artists, performers, and local businesses.

Running from noon to 10 p.m., the free festival stretches from Spring Garden Street to Girard Avenue, inviting visitors to eat, sip, shop, and explore one of Philadelphia’s most vibrant neighborhoods.

This year’s event also joins the city’s America 250 celebrations with themed activations and patriotic surprised throughout the day.

“2nd Street Festival is back and bigger than ever in Northern Liberties,” said Standard Tap owner and festival co-founder William Reed. “It is the true grand finale for a historic summer in our city with a non-stop, ten-hour celebration of local food, beer, art and music. We have been working for months and months to bring back this beloved event and we can’t wait to see everyone back on N. 2nd Street this summer! Look for a special 250th nod this year – and lots of fun surprises.”

Whether you’re planning to spend the afternoon browsing local makers or dancing in the street, there’s no shortage of things to do.

Expect highlights including:

• 🎶 18 live music acts performing across two stages
• 🛍️ Over 150 artists, makers, and crafters
• 🎪 Circus performers, stilt walkers, drumlines, and interactive entertainment
• 🎨 Face painting, splash zones, and kid-friendly activities
• 🐶 A family-friendly and dog-friendly atmosphere

Food, music, and local businesses take center stage

Food lovers can expect everything from lobster rolls and dumplings to funnel cakes, Polish specialties, Caribbean cuisine, and frozen treats from dozens of regional food trucks. Meanwhile, Northern Liberties favorites—including Standard Tap, Urban Village Brewing Company, El Camino Real, Cantina Dos Segundos, Jerry’s Bar, and La Colombe—will spill out onto the street with outdoor dining, drinks, and festival specials.

Live music remains at the heart of the festival, with 18 performances spread across the Germantown and Fairmount stages throughout the day, while hundreds of local artists and makers showcase handmade jewelry, artwork, home décor, apparel, ceramics, and more.

Admission to 2nd Street Fest is free, with food and drinks available for purchase. The festival takes place Sunday, August 2, from noon to 10 p.m. along North 2nd Street between Spring Garden Street and Girard Avenue—making it the perfect way to celebrate the final stretch of summer in Philadelphia.
