Yards Brewing Company is throwing one of the Philadelphia region’s largest Oktoberfest celebrations next Saturday, September 26, at its taproom at 500 Spring Garden Street in Northern Liberties. The event runs from noon to 4:00 p.m. and opens up parts of the brewery and warehouse that are normally off-limits to the public — all dressed up in Bavarian décor for the day.
The tap list centers on Unter Dog Oktoberfest Lager, Yards’ returning fall seasonal, joined by three beers brewed specifically for the occasion: Schnitzengiggles, a Festbier, and a Hefeweizen. Live music, a traditional Masskrugstemmen stein-holding contest, and a costume competition — with a prize for the best dirndl, lederhosen, or Oktoberfest attire — round out the afternoon.
Tickets start at $20 for the Early Bird tier (only 100 available), which includes entry, a commemorative 0.5-liter Yards Oktoberfest stein, and one complimentary beer fill. General Admission is $30 with the same inclusions. Designated Driver tickets are $10 and include entry and a stein collected at the end of the event. The event is 21+ and takes place rain or shine. Tickets and details are available on the Yards Brewing website.
Beyond the single-day celebration, Unter Dog will pour at the taproom throughout the month, alongside a special Oktoberfest food menu of German-inspired dishes.

Eagles season at the taproom
Yards is also setting up its Spring Garden location as a go-to spot for Eagles games this fall. Every game will air across the taproom with sound on, and DJ Maxx will spin during commercial breaks. The brewery is bringing back Trash Talk IPA — a 6.5% IPA brewed for Philly sports fans — at $6 during game days, alongside a Wing Flight featuring four flavors (Buffalo, Honey Chipotle, Green Long Hot, and Teriyaki) and a revamped fall food menu.
On the drinks side, the Philly Phreeze, a frozen lime margarita-inspired cocktail, and Bird Juice, Yards’ green seltzer, return on draft for football season. Vintage sports pop-up shops are planned for select game days, and Cooper the Raccoon — mascot of Trash Talk IPA — will make surprise appearances throughout the season. Seating is first come, first served.
