The weekend is finally here! Time to decompress and enjoy the time off.
After a long busy week, the weekend feels like it couldn’t have arrived fast enough. Now that the weekend is here, take advantage and do some fun activities that will help you relax and refreshed. Below are some ideas of things you can do this weekend to enjoy your time off!
1. Treat yourself!
Whatever that looks like to you; whether that’s taking a hot bath with a book, buying a sweet treat, going for a walk, or hanging out with friends. The weekend is here so that you can decompress after the busy work week to practice some self-care. It’s important to take some time for yourself, to do what makes you happy and feel good!
2. Hangout with friends who support you
Speaking of hanging out with friends, it can feel so good to go out with your best friends and talk about everything on your mind as they listen to you. Nothing is better than strong friendships with people who lift each other up and are there for one another. A fun thing to do together is to go to cute restaurants and take pictures of each other and together to commemorate your friendship! Luckily we have a guide of aesthetic restaurants and bars in the city where you can take the hottest pictures and enjoy a delicious meal.
3. Visit this exposition where all the art is made of candy
Candytopia is an art exposition in the Fashion District where absolutely all the art is made of candy! Its colorful installations and numerous rooms all with a different theme offer an opportunity to take pictures and admire this original and unique way of making art. Plus, to honor the city, the artists behind Candytopia have symbolized some of the most iconic Philly-centric things in candy form such a Rocky Statue, a portrait of Will Smith as the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, and so much more! It’s a fun place to visit to decompress and see some unique and colorful art!
Where: 901 Market Street #1150, Philadelphia, PA 19107
4. Get some exercise and fresh air
Blow off some steam by getting out of the house and moving your body. Now that the office is reopening and school is back in session, getting outside may have been pushed to the back burner. But not only does going outside and getting exercise, help clear your mind and relax, it also feels good to enjoy the fresh air and city after being at a desk all week.
5. Escape the city for a little while
Living in the city can be overwhelming sometimes, so getting away for a day or even an afternoon, can do so much good! There are many hiking trails a little outside of the city to explore. Some botanical gardens are located a short drive outside the city too to get your fill of nature.
6. Go out for a nice dinner
Going out to dinner is always a fun thing to do! If you’re craving anything in particular like seafood, or crabs, go and satisfy it! If the weather is pleasant, go to a rooftop bar to enjoy the city skyline and descent temperature. There are also many eco-friendly restaurants in the city that are making a difference in their ingredients and infrastructure to be more sustainable for the planet.
7. Watch the game at a sports bar
Sports bars are always a fun place to watch your favorite team and sport with people who are rotting for the same team as you. Luckily, Philly has many sports bars across the city that you go to, have a drink, order a bite to eat, and watch the game you’ve been looking forward to all week. Plus if you drink a little too much, you have to next day to recover. Drink responsibly though!
8. Sleep in!
It’s the best part of the weekend! Not needing to get up early or tend to responsibilities. Enjoy it and stay snuggled up in bed for a few extra hours!
