Philadelphia Eagles fans are getting a front-row seat to Saquon Barkley’s story—and this time, it’s bigger than the field. Amazon Prime has announced the release of a brand-new documentary following Barkley’s career, set to debut on October 9, the same day the Eagles take to the field against his former team, the New York Giants.
Directed by Alex Pappas with none other than Martin Scorsese as executive producer, the film traces Barkley’s arc from his standout Penn State days, to his high-profile run with the Giants, and now, to his career in Philadelphia, capped with a Super Bowl win.
“It’s been a five-year journey,” Barkley says in the teaser trailer.
“I’ve been using this as my diary, as my therapy. You get to see the journey it took to get to this point.”
Barkley documentary set to premier on Prime this fall

The teaser doesn’t shy away from Barkley’s rocky negotiations with the Giants last offseason, a saga already teased in HBO’s Hard Knocks: Offseason with the New York Giants.
In one striking clip, Giants owner John Maria is heard saying, “I’ll have a tough time sleeping if Saquon goes to Philadelphia.”
Barkley, in turn, responds: “You’re telling me you want me to be a Giant for life. I’m telling you I want to be a Giant for life.”
The irony, of course, is now history.
A glimpse at Barkley off the field
Additionally, the documentary also pulls back the curtain on Barkley’s home life, showing moments with his fiancée Anna Congdon and their children,—a reminder that even one of the NFL’s most electric players balances fatherhood with the pressures of pro sports.
This release comes two year after Prime’s blockbuster hit Kelce, which chronicled Eagles legend Kelce’s late-career highs and lows, ultimately becoming the platform’s most-watched documentary.
With Barkley’s start power, crossover appeal, and dramatic team switch, his story is shaping up to be just as binge-worthy.
For Eagles fans, the timing couldn’t be more perfect: Saquon vs. the Giants on the field, and Saquon vs. his past on the screen…all in one play.
