With spring still several weeks away, winter is indeed tightening its grip. This week, Philadelphians can expect the coldest temperatures to befall upon the city in almost two years.
Cold temperatures across Philly
Old man winter is sweeping through the East Coast, bringing with it an Arctic, icy blast. Temperatures across the region will be the coldest residents have felt in almost two years. Specifically, temps are going to feel well below zero in the area on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Tuesday will be the coldest day of the week, with wind chills of -15 degrees possible in the morning.
Wednesday is expected to be equally chilly, with daytime highs reaching the upper teens.
Next on Thursday morning, the Philadelphia area will see temperatures drop to single digits, but they will rise to the upper 20s by the afternoon.
But then-
temperatures begin to rise above the dangerous zone by Friday.
Expect highs in the lows 30s come Friday followed by a high of 35 on Saturday and a high of 40 degrees on Sunday.
