If you’ve ever wanted to go to the opera but thought it was too pricey, Opera Philadelphia just made it make sense. Their “Pick Your Price” program is back for the 2025-2026 season, and yes, you can get tickets for just $11.
“Pick Your Price” opera tickets
Indeed, this is an exciting time for theater enthusiasts. And let’s be clear: this isn’t some back-row, binoculars-required seat in the rafters. You choose your price -$11 or more- and you get access to any performance, any seat section. That’s unheard of for high-caliber arts like this.
Specifically, all tickets start at $11, and you have the option to select a higher amount ranging from $20 to $250, as well as the standard price. Every dollar you spend over $11 helps support other operagoers and the work we present on stage.
“For 50 years, Opera Philadelphia has made art at the highest level,” said Anthony Roth Costanzo, Opera Philly’s General Director and President. “We are passionate about charting a new path for opera… It’s opera, but different.”
When he says different, he means it. In fact, last season, 67% of single ticket buyers were first timers. That’s huge- and they sold out every show. “The audiences have spoken,” Costanzo said. “Where there is demand, we want to provide supply.”
The upcoming season is stacked with six powerful productions:
-
Vox Ex Machina – September 2025
-
Il viaggio a Reims – September 2025
-
The Seasons – December 2025
-
Complications in Sue – February 2026
-
Sleepers Awake – April 2026
-
The Black Clown – May 2026
If you’ve never been to the opera, this is your chance to pull up in style –date night, solo night, culture night, whatever your vibe is. The performances are held at the Academy of Music and Kimmel Center, and tickets are on sale now.
