The Philadelphia Eagles just won their second Super Bowl title in a commanding 40-22 defeat against the Kansas City Chiefs -and now it’s time to celebrate! To celebrate winning its second Lombardi Trophy, preparations are fast underway for the Super Bowl LIX victory parade and ceremony. Mayor Cherelle L. Parker held a press conference to lay out all the details for the Eagles parade and we’ve got you covered. Here’s everything you need to know about the parade.
When is the Eagles parade?
The Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl LIX victory parade will take place on Friday, February 14th, starting at 11 a.m. in South Philadelphia at Broad Street and Pattison Avenue by the Sports Complex. Fans can cheer and watch as players and staff ride along in open-air buses along the parade route. In true Philadelphia spirit, the parade will commence at the Art Museum upon the Rocky steps.
Where is the Super Bowl parade happening?
The Eagles SB victory parade will start in South Philadelphia and continue north on broad, then pass City Hall, and then swing around LOVE park. Next, the parade will then continue down Benjamin Franklin Parkway ultimately ending at the Art Museum. The ceremony will be held at the Art Museum at 2 pm until approximately 3:15 pm. There will be sensory friendly stations along the parade route as well as 15 Jumbotrons to see the ceremony.

Can I take SEPTA to the Eagles parade route?
Yes. And certain routes will be free courtesy of Philadelphia native, Kevin Hart’s tequila company, Gran Coramino. Specifically, beginning 5 a.m. Friday, the Market Frankford Line and the Broad Street Line will be free. Trains are expected to run every six to eight minutes. Important to note, only a limited number of stations will be open to safely transport parade-goers throughout the city.
Moreover, Regional Rail customers can purchase a one-day pass to the parade for $10. The pass goes on sale Wednesday Feb. 12 but must be purchased before Friday. The pass will not be available to purchase on Friday. For more information on SEPTA’s parade plans, visit the website here.
Will Philadelphia schools be closed for the Eagles parade?
Yes! When the Eagles won their first Super Bowl in 2018, the Philadelphia School District closed all schools on the day of the parade. Philly students and families can cheer once more as it has been confirmed all schools will be closed for the Eagles Super Bowl parade.
“We look forward to celebrating the Eagle’s victory as a community, and we hope that our students, staff and families will do so safely and responsibly,” Superintendent Tony Watlington said.
Indeed, this includes all school and administrative offices.
Will the Sports Complex be open for parking?
For fans eager to celebrate along the parade route in Philly, it is important to note that the Sports Complex lots will be closed. During the 2018 parade, the lots were closed then as well. Having the lots opened, reports say, requires much police manpower that is otherwise needed along the parade route.
How many Super Bowls have the Philadelphia Eagles won?
This is the second Super Bowl win and Lombardi Trophy for the birds. In 2018, the Eagles, led by Nick Foles, defeated Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in historical victory, marking the first Super Bowl win for the franchise. In 2023, the Eagles found themselves once again in the Super Bowl, this time against Kansas City Chiefs who ultimately defeated the birds.

What will the weather be like during the parade?
Although a snowy, wet wintry mix is expected this week in the region, we are in the clear for Friday. Temperatures will reach the seasonable high of 38 degrees with partly sunny conditions. Any slush left from the days prior will be long melted away.
Will the parade impact Valentine’s Day?
Hopes are that it shouldn’t. During a press conference, Mayor Cherelle L. Parker stressed to the restaurant community that the parade will be over and done well before usual dinner time. In fact, city officials are telling residents not to cancel their reservations. Valentine’s Day will go on in the city as planned, the day will start off with showing love to our football team during the parade.

Philadelphians are urged to plan accordingly and not to “just show up”. Additionally, city officials urge residents to celebrate safely and to stay off poles.
