From 100-entry scarecrow displays in Peddler’s Village to a 153rd annual Volksfest, Philly’s massive four-day Labor Day weekend lineup features over 40 events

Labor Day Weekend 2026 arrives in Greater Philadelphia with a sprawling lineup of events — concerts, cultural festivals, sporting matchups, family attractions, and outdoor dining — spread across the city and its surrounding counties from September 4 to 7, 2026.

Several of the region’s most storied institutions will offer hands-on programming throughout the weekend. The Museum of the American Revolution dedicates three full days to interactive exhibits, including a recreated 1700s neighborhood and Discovery Carts featuring Continental Army artifacts and a working replica of an old printing press. Museum educators will also lead 10-minute history talks, including a session on the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. Over in Bucks County, Fonthill Castle — the 118-year-old Henry Chapman Mercer structure — opens its doors for self-guided tours with stationed guides on September 5 and 6. The 39th Tri-State Labor Day Parade steps off from Sheet Metal Workers Local 19 Union Hall along Columbus Boulevard toward Penn’s Landing on September 7.

Sesame Place wraps up the season with fireworks and a live performance by Cookie Monster and Elmo on September 6. The Polish American Family Festival returns to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Doylestown for its 60th consecutive year, running September 5 to 7, with traditional music, dancing, and food stalls serving dishes like Placki. At Peddler’s Village, Scarecrows in the Village launches September 7 — kicking off a community scarecrow competition that runs through October 26, with over 100 entries on display.

The weekend’s music slate spans several genres. Kacey Musgraves performs at Xfinity Mobile Arena on September 4, followed by Lily Allen at Highmark Mann on September 6. At Longwood Gardens in Chester County, David Bowie’s catalog will sync with choreographed fountains during The Final Frontier fireworks display on September 6. London dubstepper Flowdan brings drum-and-bass to Otherworld Philadelphia the same evening. On the Delaware River, two white-party boat cruises aboard the Spirit of Philadelphia and the Ben Franklin Yacht set sail on September 5.

The Philadelphia Phillies — bolstered by a trade for three-time batting champion Luis Arráez — host the first-place Atlanta Braves at Citizens Bank Park for a four-game series from September 4 to 7. College football opens September 5 with the Temple Owls vs. Rhode Island at Lincoln Financial Field, while the Philadelphia Union host CF Montréal at Subaru Park that same evening.

The 153rd Annual Labor Day Volksfest at Cannstatter Volksfest-Verein runs September 5 to 7. Parks on Tap at Penn Treaty Park pours beers from Mainstay Independent Brewing, Conshohocken Brewing Company, and 2SP Brewing from September 4 to 7. For fresh produce, RiverWards Produce in Fishtown stocks torpedo onions, yellow peaches, and local heirloom tomatoes, while Carter Melons and Capriotti Brothers in Northeast Philly round out the farm-stand circuit before the season ends.
