With the rising temperatures, it is very important to stay cool, a good way to do is to keep an ice cream cone in your hand at all times! With this list, you will be able to stay chilled, support a local business, and enjoy a tasty treat! And remember it’s more environmentally friendly to order ice cream in a cone than in a cup!

1. Scoop Deville

With two walk-in locations in Philly, one delivery pick-up location, and another store coming soon, this ice cream shop is a Philadelphia establishment! Since 1989, they create the most extravagant, topping-covered, huge ice cream cones, ice cream sandwiches, and shakes that they have been mastering for years! If you are looking for a dessert that will leave you feeling stuffed and cool this is the place for you.

3. The Franklin Fountain

This family-run ice cream shop has the goal “to serve an experience steeped in ideals, drizzled with drollery, and sprinkled with the forgotten flavors of the American past.” They locally source their ingredients, to make quality ice cream that is one of a kind!

Liquid ice cream is poured onto a cold surface that freezes it, it is then rolled off with a spatula, creating a very creamy cold dessert. This shop has a large creative menu of rolled ice cream varieties to choose from; such as Frozen Green, which is green tea and strawberry, Bangkok which is Thai tea, and even avocuddle, which is avocado flavor!

5. Bassett’s Ice Cream

Established in 1861 in Philly, this is America’s oldest ice cream company! Celebrating 150 in business, they have the experience that no other ice cream shop has. Indeed, their menu is dense with flavor varieties, but also has the classic flavors we all know and love. From birthday cake, cherry vanilla, coffee fudge truffle to English toffee crunch, there is a flavor for everyone!
