Now that the warmer weather is upon us, it’s time to venture outdoors and enjoy the magic of Philadelphia. This May, bring your favorite blanket and meet your family and friends for free Friday flicks under the stars.
Friday Flicks At The Fountain
Presented by Fairmount Park Conservancy, Friday Flicks At The Fountain returns this year to add some sparkle to spring. Kick off the weekend with a relaxing Friday evening watching classic films under the beautiful May skies. It’s the perfect choice for a date night, solo night, or a group night with family and friends. Moreover, it is completely free. You must RVSP to secure your spot.
Know Before You Go
Plan for a nice evening by bringing your own blanket and/or lawn chairs. You can also bring your own food and drink or there will be a different food truck on-site each week. It is also recommended you bring water and bug spray for comfortability.
Additionally, there will be a (porta-potty) available nearby should you near a bathroom break. Lastly, this is a family-friendly event however, all minors must be accompanied by an adult.
May Movie Lineup
The movies for May are as follows:
- May 10: Kubo and the Two Strings
- May 17: Migration
Important to note, all movies will begin at 8:30pm. There will be a pre-move activity available which begins at 7:30pm. Presented by the Japan American Society of Greater Philadelphia, this is a great way to jump start the evening.
Come before the movie and enjoy a special Kamishibai story time. Kamishibai is a traditional Japanese storytelling art dating back to the early 20th century that uses a wooden frame “stage” and colorfully illustrated pages to tell unique, traditional folk stories from all across Japan.
