Important to note, the City of Philadelphia has closed parts of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway now until the November, 5th, 2024 as the city prepares for a Harris- Walz campaign rally. Read on below for a detail list of road closures.
Benjamin Franklin Parkway road closures
Specifically, on Monday, November 4, the Harris-Walz Campaign will be hosting a rally in Philadelphia. As a result, to ensure the safety of participants and the public, road closures and parking restrictions have been announced.
Per the official announcement, motorists are advised to avoid the area by using alternate routes and allow for extra driving time in areas near the event.
Moreover, those driving should also refrain from double-parking, which creates congestion, limits traffic flow, and is illegal.
However, the closures will be rolled out in phases (see below).
Phase I road closures
Firstly, the following streets will be closed from 8 a.m. on Friday, November 1 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5:
- Eakins Oval between Kelly Drive and Spring Garden Street
Phase II road closures
Next, the following streets will be closed from 8 a.m. on Saturday, November 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5:
- Kelly Drive (inbound) from 25th Street to Benjamin Franklin Parkway

Spring Garden Street between Pennsylvania Avenue and Kelly Drive
- Benjamin Franklin Parkway (inner and outer lanes) between 22nd Street and 24th Street
Phase III
Then, the following streets will be closed from 5 a.m. on Monday, November 4 to approximately 8 a.m. on Tuesday, November 5:

The entire width of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, beginning at 18th Street and extending west through Eakins Oval to 25th Street

22nd Street between Winter Street and Spring Garden Street

I-676 westbound off-ramp at 22nd Street

Note: I-676 eastbound off-ramp at 23rd Street will remain open.
Parking restrictions
Lastly, parking restrictions will be in place for several locations in the area.
Important to note, additional road closures or parking restrictions may go into effect if deemed necessary.
