Philadelphia Zoo has officially unveiled its most ambitious exhibit project in more than a decade! Now, visitors can experience an entirely new way to see some of the world’s most vulnerable bear species. The newly opened Francis J. Carey Bear Country represents a $25 million investment in animal care, conservation, and guest experiences.
In fact, it is the largest construction project at Philadelphia Zoo since the debut of KidZooU in 2013. The transformed habitat is now home to Andean bears Turbo and Alba, along with sloth bear Bhalu.
The exhibit is now open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is included with regular Philadelphia Zoo tickets and memberships.

Designed to exceed modern animal care standards, Carey Bear Country offers 60% more space for its residents and includes features that closely mimic natural environments found in the wild.
