Philadelphia is getting a new destination for sauna sessions, thermal pools, and recovery. New York City-based wellness brand Bathhouse is opening its first Philadelphia location at The Bellevue.
The 36,000-square-foot space at 200 S. Broad Street opens September 25, marking Bathhouse’s first expansion beyond New York City. The multi-level location will occupy the historic former Tiffany & Co. space inside The Bellevue, blending the brand’s modern approach to wellness with one of Center City’s best-known historic buildings.
“Expanding to Philadelphia was an incredible opportunity for us, and we chose The Bellevue because it is central to the city’s cultural and commercial heart and because of its stunning beauty,” said Jason Goodman, Co-Founder of Bathhouse.
What to expect at Bathhouse Philadelphia
The new location will center around contrast therapy, with most of the experience housed in a dramatic brick-walled basement.
Guests can expect:
- Three indoor pools designed for hot-and-cold thermal experiences
- Three thermal rooms, including an infrared sauna, dry sauna, and banya
- A steam room for another part of the thermal circuit
- A third-floor outdoor terrace opening in early 2027
- An outdoor pool and fourth sauna on the future terrace
- Lounge space and concessions for spending time between sessions
- Bodywork and recovery programming as part of the Bathhouse’s broader wellness offerings
The Philadelphia location follows Bathhouse’s first opening in Williamsburg in 2019 and its subsequent expansion throughout New York. The brand describes its spaces as purpose-built environments focused on contrast therapy, recovery and “state change”.
Bathhouse Philadelphia is now accepting reservations and will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Day passes start at just $29, making it an affordable way to relax and recover in a luxurious setting.
The Bellevue, meanwhile, continues to expand its wellness offerings through its 100,00-square-foot Sporting Club, making the new Bathhouse another addition to the historic property’s growing lifestyle lineup.
