Philadelphia spirit may be on fire after The Philadelphia Eagles won their second Super Bowl title, but the upcoming weather isn’t. In fact, another round of snow is expected to fall in Philly and the surrounding suburbs this week leading to a messy commute.
Another round of snow
Although the start of the spring season is only a few weeks away, winter weather is still rearing its cold head. The winter season in Philadelphia has already seen its fair share of snow and wintery mixes. However, another round of snow is on its way. Moreover, a winter weather advisory has already been declared beginning Tuesday afternoon until Wednesday afternoon.
So, just how much snow is expected to fall in Philadelphia? Not so much. Specifically, the further South you live in the region, the more snow is expected to fall. Philly and the northern counties can expect lesser snow.
Snow predictions are ranging anywhere from 2-5 inches throughout the Philadelphia region.
Current predictions are as follows:
- Wildwood: 6 inches
- Dover: 5.6 inches
- Millville: 5 inches
- Philadelphia: 2.6 inches
- Mount Pocono: .4 inches
According to reports, the snow is expected to begin falling around 4 p.m. Tuesday and continue overnight into Wednesday, leading to a messy morning commute.
But, it’s not over yet.
Thursday morning ushers in a wintry mix that will turn into rain.
A look ahead to later this week
By Friday, the weather is expected to be calmer, with temperatures rising into the 40’s, clearing away what’s left of fallen precipitation.
Indeed, this week’s weather may have been a deciding factor in selected the date for the upcoming Eagles Super Bowl victory parade.
After the team won the title and hinted at a date via social media, city officials have confirmed the parade will take place Friday, February 14th, 2025, which also happens to be Valentine’s Day.
No doubt weather-wise, Friday is the best weekday for the parade.
After another round of snow, Philly can celebrate.
