Call Your Mother Deli has officially brought its signature pink storefront and freshly baked bagels to Rittenhouse. In fact, it’s the second Philadelphia location. The new shop follows the brand’s September debut in Fishtown and continues the Washington, D.C.-born deli’s expansion across the region.
The deli takes over the former Metropolitan Bakery space, carrying its history into a colorful new chapter.
A new chapter for a familiar neighborhood space

Co-founded by husband-and-wife duo Andrew Dana and Chef Daniela Moreira, Call Your Mother began as a family-run farmers market stand in Washington, D.C., in 2018. Philadelphia holds personal significance for Dana, whose mother’s side of the family is from the area.
Before taking over the Rittenhouse location, the team spoke with Metropolitan Bakery co-founder and president Wendy Smith Born about their shared appreciation for family, community and good food. Smith Born gave the team her blessing, and the deli preserved the bakery’s original floral columns.
“We know we have big shoes to fill in this space,” Dana said, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to welcome the neighborhood into the next chapter of the location.
Inside, the deli embraces a playful “grandma’s fun house” aesthetic. It features floral wallpaper, a pink ceiling, mismatched frames, vintage trophies, little yellow phones and Philadelphia sports memorabilia.
Bagels, stacked sandwiches and seasonal sweets

The menu combines breakfast favorites with housemade treats and a Philly-inspired specialty. The standout Jetski sandwich layers brisket, pastrami, sofrito, jalapeño, cheddar and American cheese on a cheddar bagel. Guests can also find honey-kissed bagels, bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches, oversized chocolate chip cookies and seasonal sweets.
One seasonal highlight is the pumpkin black & white cookie topped with Biscoff crumbles. Drinks include the Banana Bread Matcha Latte and the deli’s signature Daily Drip coffee.
Chef Moreira says the menu has something for different occasions. Enjoy a quick breakfast before work to lunch with friends or an afternoon treat.
Call Your Mother Deli is open from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays and 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends.
