Philadelphia’s favorite unlikely fall food pairing is back. The Scrapple & Apple Festival returns to Reading Terminal Market on Saturday, October 17, bringing a full day of sweet and savory bites, apple tasting, and plenty of creative scrapple fun.
The indoor festival runs from 10 a.m to 5 p.m., making it an easy way to get into the fall spirit without worrying about the weather. Admission is free, while food and drinks are available for purchase.
Come hungry for scrapple and apple

Reading Terminal Market merchants are getting in on the theme with special dishes that put a seasonal spin on two very different ingredients. Expect everything from scrapple fries to apple pie churros, with plenty of unexpected combinations in between.
Scrapple-themed bites include:
- Scrapple fries with homemade apple butter from Down Home Diner
- Scrapple apple cookies and an apple “Scrapplewich” from The Famous 4th St. Cookie Company
- Crispy scrapple and caramelized apple penovani from Saami Somi
- Scrapple and apple fried lumpia from Tambayan
- House-made scrapple from Molly Malloy’s
- Chocolate-dipped chocolate chip cookie topped with scrapple from Pennsylvania General Store
For something sweeter, look for:
- Apple crisp banana pudding from Sweet Nina’s
- Apple dumplings from Dutch Eating Place
- Apple pie churro sundaes from El Merkury
- Caramel apple Pop-Tarts from Molly Malloy’s
- Oatmeal and green apple cookies from Pennsylvania General Store
- Apple tea from The Herbiary
There will also be apple sampling in partnership with Lancaster Produce Company and Chef Tim Lopez, featuring both familiar favorites and more unique apple varieties.
Watch scrapple become art

The festival festivities actually begin October 15, when 12 contestants compete in Reading Terminal Market’s annual Scrapple Sculpting Contest at 11 a.m.
Each participant gets six points of scrapple, sculpting tools, and 90 minutes to create a Reading Terminal Market-themed masterpiece. A panel of judges will select a winner. The sculptures will remain on display during the October 17 festival so visitors can cast their own popular vote.
The Market Merch store will also debut merchandise created in collaboration with 2025 sculpting champion and tattoo artist Patrick Moser, including special shirts, sweatshirts, pins, and magnets.
With plenty to test, see, and sample, the Scrapple & Apple Festival is one more reason to make Reading Terminal Market part of your fall weekend plans.
