One of Philadelphia’s most beloved neighborhood festivals is back—and this year, it’s part of something even bigger. The 24th Annual Roxborough Spring Fest & Rockin’ the Ridge Car Show returns to Ridge Avenue on Saturday, May 9, bringing a full day of live music, food, art, and community celebration.
Even more notable, the event has been selected as an official anchor festival in citywide Philadelphia 250 celebration, marking the nation’s 250th anniversary. That designation places Roxborough Spring Fest among just 20 neighborhood events supported through Mayor Cherelle Parker’s RingItOn! initiative.
What makes Roxborough Spring Fest special this year?
Roxborough Spring Fest is more than just a street festival, it’s a celebration rooted in history. The neighborhood played a role in the nation’s Bicentennial back in 1976, with events kicking off at Gorgas Park. Now, nearly 50 years later, Roxborough is once again stepping into the spotlight for a milestone anniversary.
Festival organizers are leaning into that legacy while delivering a high-energy, family-friendly event that draws visitors from across the region.

What can you expect at the festival?
From classic cars to local art and nonstop entertainment, the festival transforms Ridge Avenue into a lively open-air celebration.
Highlights include:
- 🎶 Three live music stages with all-day performances
- 🚗 Rockin’ the Ridge Car Show featuring classic and custom vehicles
- 🍔 70+ vendors and 15+ food spots including trucks and local favorites
- 🎨 Student art show “Doodle the Dream: The Next 250”
- 🍻 Craft drinks from New Ridge Brewing Company
- 🧘 Community Wellness Village with interactive experiences
- 👨👩👧👦 Family-friendly activities and hands-on fun
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. along Ridge Avenue, stretching from Leverington Avenue to Fountain Street, and is free to attend.

Why is this festival important to Philadelphia’s 250th celebration?
City leaders are using neighborhood events like this to bring the Semiquincentennial celebration beyond Center City and into communities across Philadelphia.
“Philadelphia’s Semiquincentennial celebrations belong to every neighborhood,” said Kathryn Ott Lovell, President and CEO of the Philadelphia Visitor Center Corporation and Philadelphia250.
“Mayor Parker’s Ring It On! initiative carries that spirit into communities across the city, ensuring every Philadelphian feels part of this historic moment. Philadelphia250 is ensuring that these neighborhood celebrations occur for the rest of the year, starting now with events like Spring Fest, through to December. July 4th is important, but we’re going well beyond that.”
Whether you’re there for the cars, the food, or the music, Roxborough Spring Fest is shaping up to be one of the most meaningful—and fun—ways to celebrate Philadelphia’s 250th anniversary this spring.
