One of Philadelphia’s most beautiful hidden gems is inviting visitors to celebrate the outdoors this summer. RiverFest returns to Glen Foerd on Sunday, July 12, bringing a day of free boating, environmental education, arts activities, and family-friendly fun to the historic riverfront estate.
Nestled along the banks of the Delaware River in Northeast Philadelphia, Glen Foerd is known for its breathtaking architecture, manicured grounds, and sweeping waterfront views.
The 18-acre estate offers a rare combination of history and natural beauty, making it a fitting backdrop for a festival centered on connecting people with the river and surrounding environment.
Taking place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., RiverFest invites guests to explore both the water and the grounds through a variety of interactive experiences.
Get out on the water
One of the festival’s biggest draws is the opportunity paddle the Delaware River and Poquessing Creek.
Guests can utilize Glen Foerd’s fleets of kayaks, canoes, and rowboats and open boating will be available throughout the day. It’s a great way to experience the estate from a unique perspective while taking in scenic waterfront views.
Whether you’re an experienced paddler or trying boating for the first time, the free activity offers a memorable way to enjoy one of Philadelphia’s most picturesque stretches of riverfront.

Adding to the waterfront atmosphere, members of the Delaware River Yacht Club, will host sailboat races throughout the day. Festivalgoers can watch the boats glide across the river from Glen Foerd’s expansive lawn, creating a picture-perfect summer scene.
Lastly, while admission to RiverFest is free, donations are encouraged to support Glen Foerd’s environmental education and stewardship programs.
