Philly Black pride 2026 expands into a full week of celebration!
One of the nation’s largest celebrations of Black LGBTQ+ culture is back—and bigger than ever. Philly Black Pride returns for its 27th anniversary from April 20 through April 26, 2026, transforming the city into a vibrant hub of culture, connection, and empowerment.
This year’s theme, “250 Reasons to Celebrate Black LGBTQ+ Changemakers,” aligns with the nation’s 250 anniversary and shines a spotlight on individuals across the Greater Philadelphia region who are shaping culture, advocacy, and community.
“Philly Black Pride is more than a celebration, it’s a movement rooted in legacy, resistance, and radical joy,” said President Jacen Bowman. “This is about visibility—but also power, ownership, and making sure our stories are told by us, for us.”
What to expect during Philly Black Pride week
From wellness experiences to nightlight, this year’s expanded programming reflects the full spectrum of Black queer life. Expect a mix of free and ticketed events across the city, with the Warwick Rittenhouse Hotel service as the official host hotel.

A legacy rooted in culture, community, & resistance
Born from a legacy of the COLOURS Organization, Philly Black Pride has spend nearly three decade creating space where culture, identity, and community intersect. What started as a festival has evolved into a nationally recognized movement centered on visibility, healing, and empowerment.
“As we celebrate, we’re also reclamining narrative and amplifying voices that have too often been overlooked, ” Bowman said. “When we move together—we don’t just show up…we rise.”
