It’s time to get cleaning Philly! Spring is the season of renewal, new beginnings and cleaning up any clutter (both physically and mentally) left behind from the Winter blues. With the warm weather ushering in, millions of people across the city will be venturing outdoors to enjoy all the beauty our city has to offer. With over 200 miles of trails and hundreds of parks, Springtime in Philly is overflowing with fun activities for the whole family.
Now imagine a wonderful picturesque picnic in Drexel Hill Park ruined by mounds of trash or, a group bike ride along the Schuylkill River Trail cut short due t0 litter. In addition to the tireless efforts of The Philadelphia Department of Streets and The Sanitation Department, as citizens of this great city, we can all do our part to keep it beautiful.
April 1st 2023 is the 16th Annual Philly Spring Cleanup day and is a call to action for people across every neighborhood in the city to come together to cleanup the streets and parks.
Philly Spring Cleanup is Philadelphia’s largest city-wide, single-day clean-up event. Since its 2008 launch, a total of 200,000 volunteers have removed more than 11.4 million pounds of trash and 950,000 pounds of tires from city streets at nearly 6,750 project sites.

The city will be making its way around nieghborhoods to collect trash and recyclables from clean up projects.
A Green Philly
Keeping our city clean and green is without a doubt a joint effort between city departments and citizens. The Philly Spring Cleanup is a chance for residents to join together and get involved in the efforts.
This would be a great day of service for people of all ages. It’s also a wonderful example to showcase the importance of caring for our planet.
In case the event needs to be postponed due to weather, the rain date will be April 15th, 2023.
Let’s show up and show out Philly!
