Philadelphia pizza lovers have a new answer to the age-old question of where to grab a great slice— or at least, Google’s AI does.
According to data from Local Falcon’s Restaurant AI Visibility Index, Angelo’s Pizzeria came out on top among Philadelphia pizzerias after the company tested how Google’s AI Overviews respond to restaurant recommendation searches.
The study analyzed 13 recommendation searches across Philadelphia, producing 117 individual AI searches. Restaurants were ranked based on how often they appeared among the AI’s top three recommendations.
Angelo’s Pizzeria appeared in seven of the 13 searches and landed in the top three every time, earning an average AI position of 1.98. Pizzeria Beddia matched Angelo’s with seven appearances and seven top-three finishes, but its average position was 0.17 spots behind.

The results also show just how unpredictable AI recommendations can be. The searches named 65 different Philly pizzerias, with 44 appearing only once, while six searches returned no recommendations. Emmy Squared Pizza, for example, was named in seven searches but reached the top three only three times.
Meanwhile, Italian Family Pizza had the highest Google rating among the top 10 at 4.9 stars, but reached the AI’s top three twice.
The study also found an interesting source behind those recommendations: Philadelphia’s food creator TwoChomp’s Facebook page was cited in 69.2% of the AI’s responses, compared with 61.5% for Eater Philadelphia. Yelp appeared in all 13 searches , while TripAdvisor appeared in 92.3% of them.
For now, at least, it looks like Google’s AI has picked its favorite jawn in Philly for a slice: Angelo’s Pizzeria.
