Apparently the City of Brotherly Love has a lot of love for the Big Apple. In fact, a new study by Zillow ranks Philadelphia as the #1 metro area in the United States with the most residents looking for a home in New York City.
It must be the Bradley Cooper cheesesteaks.
Indeed, Philadelphia is home to many attractive perks including world-class restaurants, lush parks, and an abundance of entertainment options.
However, for those looking to relocate but stick to the urban, city feel, New York City is comparatively a winner.
Cities that dream of moving to New York City….
Zillow analyzed search data on its platform to uncover what states seem to have their eyes set on the Big Apple. The top cities are as follows:
- Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
- Washington, D.C.
- Miami, Florida
- Boston, Massachusetts
- Los Angeles, California
- Atlanta, Georgia
- Chicago, Illinois
- Dallas, Texas
- San Fransisco, California
- Tampa, Florida
Interestingly enough, the study also examined where New Yorkers are looking to move the most.
Unsurprisingly, the City of Brotherly love takes the cake.
…and the cities New Yorkers dream of the most
On the other hand, New Yorkers looking to relocate are on to something. While some Philadelphians are looking for a home in NYC, New Yorkers are looking for Philly living. Specifically, per Zillow, here are the top 10 cities that are attractive to New Yorkers:
- Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
- Miami, Florida
- Atlanta, Georgia
- Boston, Massachusetts
- Tampa, Florida
- Washington, D.C.
- Orlando, Florida
- Los Angeles, California
- Charlotte, North Carolina
- Houston, Texas
What do you think? It’s no surprise that Philadelphia sits at #1. While the two cities may have somewhat of a rivalry (especially over sports), they have more in common than one would like to admit. Now when it comes to superiority, bigger isn’t always better.
Ask any true Philadelphian, and they’d be happy to name reasons why there’s no place like Philly.
