Travelers looking to escape to the Caribbean will soon have more options thanks to new and expanded non-stop flights from Philadelphia to Dominican Republic destinations. American Airlines recently announced it will launch a new nonstop route from Philadelphia International Airport to Santiago, Dominican Republic. The service begins May 21, 2026, marking the first time travelers will be able to fly directly between the two cities since 2022.
The new route will operate four times a week, giving passengers easier access to Santiago, a vibrant city know for its culture, food, a proximity to the mountains of Cibao Valley.
In addition to the new Santiago flights, the airline is also expanding its service to other Dominican Republic destinations just in time for summer travel.
“As Philadelphia’s Hometown Airline, we take pride in the robust international service we provide for PHL customers to popular destinations around the world— and we know the Caribbean is a sought-after getaway for summer vacation,” said American Airlines Vice President of PHL Operations Lakshman Amaranayaka.
“We look forward to serving our customers this summer, whether they plan to take advantage of the world-class beaches, culture and adventure of the Dominican Republic or any of the 120 destinations we offer direct from PHL.“
