Philadelphia’s ‘Made In America’ festival will not be returning to the Parkway for 2024. Earlier today, organizers announced the festival has been canceled. Echoing the sentiments of last year, this is the second year in a row the festival has been scrapped.
Made In America 2024 Canceled
The announcement came via a post on social media which read in part
“Since its inception, this groundbreaking festival has celebrated music & community – from creating a space for fans to connect, to uplifting local small businesses & shining a light on important causes. It has strived for accessibility, eliminating barriers through affordable tickets and location.
As purveyors of change, the Made In America executive production team is reimagining a live music experience that affirms our love and dedication to music and the work we do.
We promise an exciting return to the festival.”
Uncontrolled Circumstances
Simply put, organizers state the festival has been canceled “due to circumstances out of production control.”
The festival was canceled last year just one month before.
The 2023 two-day festival was set to kick off September 2nd on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and included headliners Lizzo & SZA.
Other artists who were scheduled to perform last year included Miguel, Tems, Metro Boomin, Ice Spice, Coi Leray, Latto, Lil Yachty, Doechii, Lola, and more.
The Future Of Made In America
Since its inception in 2012, the Jay-Z founded festival has always taken place in Philadelphia. During the pandemic, this was the only time the festival was skipped.
In fact, it has pumped more than $180 million into the Philadelphia economy.
“A cancelation like this will have a big impact on our industry,” said Ed Grose, the head of the Greater Philadelphia Hotel Association, after last year’s cancelation.
The festival promises to return in the future.
