Philadelphia is getting ready to welcome the world and one of Latin music’s biggest starts is helping kick off the celebration. Philadelphia Soccer 2026 has announced that global superstar Luis Fonsi will headline a free opening night concert at FIFA Fan Festival™ Philadelphia on Thursday, June 11, 2026.
The performance will take place at Lemon Hill in East Fairmount Park following the FIFA World Cup 2026™ opening match between Mexico and South Africa.
The concert marks the start of what organizers are calling a 39-day celebration of soccer, music, food, culture, and community in the City of Brotherly Love.
A massive free World Cup party is coming to Philly
The FIFA Fan Festival™ Philadelphia officially opens at 2 p.m. on June 11. It will transform more than one million square feet of Lemon Hill into a giant watch party for soccer fans. Visitors can catch the opening match on big screens, enjoy local food trucks, and grab drinks. Be sure to explore interactive activities throughout the festival grounds.
Best of all? Admission is completely free.
Organizers say the festival will operate throughout the World Cup. Fans will have a place to gather and celebrate every day of the tournament.
“Opening day of the FIFA World Cup is the moment we’ve all been waiting for, so we wanted to create an experience for fans that matches the excitement and significant of that moment,” said Michael DelBene, Executive Producer of FIFA Fan Festival™ for Philadelphia Soccer 2026.

Fonsi, best known for the global smash hit “Despacito,” has spent more than 25 years building an international music career. Along the way, he’s earned multiple GRAMMY® nominations, Latin GRAMMY® wins, Billboard awards, and seven Guinness World Records.

Fans are encourages to register in advance for the FIFA Fan Festival™, although entry remains free. Access each be available on a first-come, first-served basis and is subject to vent capacity.
