Philadelphia’s marathon weekend is already one of the city’s most joyful traditions, but this year, runners have an extra-sweet reason to celebrate at the finish line. Levain Bakery, the iconic dessert hotspot known for its gooey, larger-than-life cookies, is once again treating Philly Marathon and Half Marathon finishers to a free cookie at its Rittenhouse Square location.
The giveaway returns on Saturday and Sunday, November 22-23, 2025, and it’s quickly becoming one of marathon weekend’s cutest new traditions. Runners just need to show their finisher’s medial and Levain will hand over one of their famously thick, warm cookies…free of charge (and full of love)!
🍪 Levain is bringing back this new sweet tradition in the making
Last year was Levain’s first time offering this treat, and the response was so heartwarming that the bakery knew they had to bring it back.
Runners lined up still wrapped in their heat blankets, families came to cheer them on, and the entire block buzzed with feel-good, post-race energy.
This year, Levain is eager to continue building a tradition that blends community pride, celebration, and plenty of sugar. This sweet tradition in the making is just the kind of gesture that makes marathon weekend magical.
👀 Where to find the free cookies

The celebration takes place at Levain Bakery Rittenhouse, right in the heart of Center City. Whether you’re racing, supporting a runner, or simply want to soak up the marathon atmosphere (and maybe snake a cookie of your own), the storefront is a perfect place to catch the post-race glow.
