It’s officially spooky season and Philadelphia is filled with many Halloween events for kids that’s fun for the entire family. From a not-so-scary scarecrow display to places to go trick-or-treating, we’ve got you covered on where to take your mini monsters and goblins. Check out these events happening this October in the city, not to mention they’re all free!
1. Scarecrows In The Village, Peddler’s Village
Bring the children to a visit to Peddler’s Village in New Hope, Pa for a family-friendly great time. Now until October 29th, 2023, come see the Scarecrows In The Village display. Indeed, a beloved tradition now in its 44th year, the kids will be amazed at the 100+ scarecrows that line the brick pathway of the autumn village. A true gem indeed, the scarecrows are all handcrafted by Philly residents and organizations and range from funny to scary to even our Philly sports mascots. 2. Trick Or Trolley, Manayunk
Now until the end of October, bring the children, pets, and whole family to Manayunk for a spooky Halloween celebration all month long. Specifically, Fridays & Saturdays in October, visitors can get around Main Street on the free Trick-or-Trolley! The Trick-or-Trolley will stop at several spots including the Manayunk’s spookiest attraction, Lincoln Mill Haunted House. The Trolley will run from the Ivy Ridge Train Station to the movie theatre parking lot, and stop at several different locations in between. The entire loop take about 20 minutes. 3. Pay What You Wish Trick-Or-Treat, Philadelphia Museum of Art
If you’re looking for events for kids that has it all, look no further! Grab your costume and bring the entire family to The Philadelphia Museum of Art for a frighteningly fun time! October 27th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. enjoy a spooktacular evening full of not only arts and crafts and a scavenger hunt but also, pumpkin painting, and more. Gather around to hear spooky stories or get your monster boogie on with tunes from a live DJ. After all the fun, grab a bite as Constellation Catering Group is serving up eerie-sistable treats. 4. Halloween On The Hill, Chestnut Hill
Bring the kids to the majestic, historic village that is Chestnut Hill for a fun, safe, and family-friendly trick-or-treating experience. Sunday October 29th, from 1:00-3:00pm, Halloween On The Hill takes place in Chestnut Hill. Firstly, visit the local shops for fun treats for the kids as they parade up and down in the Halloween’s best. 5. Trick-Or-Treat Street, Franklin Square
Saturday October 28th, 2023 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. bring the kids to this free immersive experience at Franklin Square. Notably, this event is recommended for children ages 10 and under. Kids visiting Franklin Square can follow the fun map to collect goodies along the way. This event is again free to attend. However, early registration is recommended.
