He’s known for bulldozing through tackles on the field, but Saquon Barkley is channeling that same power into something far more meaningful this season. The Eagles running back and his family are stepping of the turf and into the ballon for a cause that hits close to home – helping families overcome life’s toughest hurdles.
Michael Ann & Saquon Barkley host Hurdles for Hope Gala
On November 1, Barkley and his family will host the Hurdles for Hope Gala at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, raising funds through their Michael Ann & Saquon Barkley Hope Foundation.
The goal of the gala is to raise $250,000 for scholarships, housing support, and safe spaces for under-resourced families across the region.
More than football: a personal mission
Before the NFL lights and sold-out stadiums, the Barkley family knew what it meant to struggle, from food insecurity to not knowing where to sleep at night.
Such experiences shaped the heart behind their foundation, created to pay forward the same kindness that once helped them make it through.
Indeed, it was such experiences that helped shaped the character and leadership Philadelphia loves about Barkley, both on and off the field.
Hurdles for Hope Gala: a night for philly to rally around hope
The black-tie event promises a night of inspiration, community, and purpose. Moreover, it’ll blend together the glamour of the Art Museum with the grit and gratitude of Philadelphia.
Proceeds will help families find stability, students chase scholarships, and young athletes dream beyond their circumstances.
Barkley’s story reminds us that no matter how bright the spotlight gets, true greatness shines in giving back.
The Hurdles for Hope Gala takes place November 1 at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
