It was the game of all games. Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles went to head-t0-head against the Dallas Cowboys in the highly anticipated rivalry game of the season. In the end, the beloved birds walked away as the NFC East Division champs! GO BIRDS!
NFC East Champs
The Philadelphia Eagles are the NFC East champions thank’s to Sundays game against division rivals, the Dallas Cowboys. The Eagles won against Dallas in a 41-7 final score. The home game was indeed an exciting one. Actress and singer Keke Palmer opened the game singing the National Anthem and donning a Kelly Green bomber jacket.
For Eagles fan it was an exhilarating moment to be crowned the NFC East champs, stealing the title from the Cowboys, who won the division title last season.
Head coach Nick Sirianni confirmed what fans were feeling,”It’s exciting,” he said postgame of taking the division. “We always want to do special things. I think winning the division is a special thing. And then our goals are much bigger from here. I think we’ve got special guys. It was fun celebrating in there when you’re able to do this, and exciting. We’ll enjoy this and then we’ll get right back to work.”
Saquon Barkley shines
Undoubtedly, Saquon Barkley continue to shine during Sunday’s after. After setting a franchise record for the most single-season rushing yards earlier this month, he is now well on his way to setting an NFL record.
In fact, Barkley is just 101 yards from surpassing Eric Dickerson’s single-season rushing record of 2,105 yards, with one game to spare.
However, the question remains if the Philadelphia Eagles allow Barkley to play in the finale. With the team already at the No. 2 seed, there is no reason to play the running back except for record-breaking purposes.
“I’m not overly trying to go get it. I’m not scared of it,” Barkley commented. “I would love to, but at the end of the day, also, we’ve got bigger things that we’re focusing on, and we’re able to clinch the division right here, whether we play next week or not.
