Traveling without a Real ID or passport doesn’t have to mean missed flights. TSA ConfirmID is a new optional service that allows travelers to pay a $45 fee to verify their identity and proceed through airport security at PHL and other U.S. airports.
While using TSA ConfirmID isn’t mandatory, it’s a useful option if you find yourself without an acceptable form of ID. Keep in mind, TSA will attempt to verify your identity, but success isn’t guaranteed— so, it’s always best to travel with a Real ID or passport whenever possible. This service can save a trip and reduce stress in last-minute travel situations.
How to pay for TSA ConfirmID ✈️
Paying for TSA ConfirmID is simple and fully online:
- 👉🏼 Click “Pay Now”– You’ll be redirected to the TSA ConfirmID page on Pay.gov.
- 🪪 Enter traveler info – Include the traveler’s legal name and travel start date. Someone else can pay for you, but the traveler’s details must be accurate.
- 💳 Choose a payment method – Options include debit/credit card, ACH bank transfer, Venmo, or PayPal.
- 🧑💻 Review & submit – Double-check all info and submit. The $4 fee is valid for 10 days from the travel date entered.
- 🧾 Save your receipt – You’ll receive a confirmation email from Pay.gov. Keep it printed or on your phone to show TSA at the checkpoint.
Each adult without an acceptable ID must complete the TSA ConfirmId process individually.
Important to note, fraud or misuse of this process is subject to federal penalties.
Why this matters for travelers 🪪
This optional service provides a peace of mind for travelers who may have forgotten their ID or need a last-minute solution. It doesn’t replace a REAL ID or passport, but it can prevent delays, missed flights, and extra stress at airport security.
With TSA ConfirmID, traveling from Philly and other U.S. airports becomes more flexible and less stressful. A simple $45 fee can make all difference when plans go awry.
