The 16th annual philanthropic event “Dish It Up” takes places this Thursday, June 6th, 2024 from 6 to 9 pm. Enjoy an unforgettable evening of live music, entertainment, and culinary delights that will leave your mouth-watering. Presented by Women Against Abuse, Inc., this meaningful fundraiser supports survivors of domestic violence.
Dish It Up
Markedly, now in its 16th year, Dish It Up is a unique culinary competition centered around philanthropy. Specifically, Philadelphia’s top women chefs and community leaders will come together for a charitable evening boasting sweet and savory bites from the city’s top restaurants, premium open bar, celebrity judges, DJ, photo booth, VIP hour, and more, in support of domestic violence survivors.
Firstly, attendees will be able to taste culinary creations from the top women chefs in Philadelphia. Not only will you enjoy delicious bites, but also an open bar featuring espresso martinis by Bean2Bean, a Philly-based family-owned business focused on sustainability and community. Additionally, mocktails are also available and provided by Gem Life Collective, a New Jersey-based booze free bottle shop and pop-up bar owned by Drew Davis. Next, dance to the sounds of a live DJ and snap photos in the Photo Booth.
Indeed, Dish It Up attracts over 300 attendees each year including some of the city’s most impactful leaders.
Important to note, it is presented by Women Against Abuse, Inc., one of the country’s largest domestic violence service providers.
Specifically, this organization serves over 10,000 people each year through emergency housing, legal services, hotline counseling, education and advocacy.
Moreover, the organization operates Philadelphia’s only domestic violence shelters. Additionally, it operates one of the nation’s first legal centers for people experiencing intimate partner violence.
Party For A Purpose
“Dish It Up is a unique opportunity to enjoy delicious food from some of Philly’s top women chefs while raising funds for our life-saving programs,” said Joanna Otero-Cruz, Executive Director and President of Women Against Abuse in an official press release. “This isn’t your typical gala or awards show. Guests have a blast mingling while they sample the sweet and savory tastings and enjoy cocktails. It’s a really fun, inspiring event for a very important cause.”
Undoubtedly, here’s your chance to party for a purpose. Dish It Up will take place this Thursday June 6th, 2024 from 6 to 9 pm at Vie Cescaphe.
First, doors will open at 5pm for a VIP happy hour including hors d’oeuvres by Winnie’s Manayunk, live entertainment, and more. Then, from 6-9pm, Philadelphia’s top women chefs will compete for best savory and sweet dish of the night, selected by a panel of celebrity judges, including highly accomplished culinary powerhouse Chef Jennifer Carroll, Chef Eli Collins, Executive Director of Culinary Nutrition for the 76ers, Christine Curran, Founder and Host of Dining Divas TV, Tamara Davis, Co-Producer and Co-Host of Dining Divas TV, Emilio Mignucci, VP of Culinary Pioneering at Di Bruno Brothers and the Cheese Cave Godfather, and Sharon Thompson-Schill, the “Godmother of the Philly dining scene.”
