Philadelphia’ winter magic is back! The Independence Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest returns to the Delaware River Waterfront on Friday, November 28, 2025, bringing a season full of skating, festive bites, and holiday cheer. This year, the Waterfront experienced expands to include a Holiday Art Show and Artist Gift Guide at Cherry Street Pier, making it the perfect destination for family fun, friends’ outings, or solo winter adventures.
Glide free: How to get complimentary admission for you and your guests
The RiverRink offers free entry for all, with skate admission at just $5 and rentals for $12.
However, Independence Blue Cross members enjoy complimentary skate admission for themselves and up to three guests— just show your IBX card online or in person.
Military personal and first responders also receive free admission for themselves and three guests with valid ID (skate rental not included).
Visitors can reserve skating tickets, cabins, firepits, or Rinkside Lounge packages in advance online.
With limited on-site parking, it’s best to walk, bike, or use public transit to make the most of your Waterfront visit.

Cherry Street Pier is hosting its first Holiday Art Show from December 5-21, 2025. Opening night on December 5, 5-7 pm, kicks off just ahead of the Holiday Tree Lighting Winterfest.
The Artist Gift Guide launches Small Business Saturday, November 29, showcasing handmade gifts from the Pier’s resident artists. Shoppers can find everything from jewelry, art prints, and textiles to Philadelphia-centric keepsakes.
Beyond the Rink: Cozy firepits, warming cabins, and festive bites
Skaters can warm up in The Lodge, now decked out with holiday décor and giant disco balls, or relax around glowing outdoor fire pits. Sip winter-themed cocktails at Jacquin’s Porch Bar or enjoy hot chocolate, crab fries, birria tacos, pizza, cheesesteaks, and more from seasonal food partners.
Classic amusements return too, all alongside breathtaking views of the Ben Franklin Bridge.
Ride the Ferris wheel, visit the indoor arcade, and marvel at the giant holiday tree.
Leashed pups are welcome in all outdoor areas except The Lodge.
