Most music lovers recognize Radiohead’s music as alternative sounds and experimental rock. With the release of The Bends in 1995, the group grew in popularity and the album is deemed to be one of the best albums in popular music. This summer, Candlelight is putting a classical twist on Radiohead’s diverse instrumentation and swapping out their introspective lyrics for the inviting glow of candles.
Taking place at BOK Auditorium, a stunning Art Deco building, on August 19, this special tribute features a Listeso string quintet’s awe-inspiring takes on songs such as “Paranoid Android”, “Karma Police”, and more.
Candlelight: A Tribute to Radiohead at BOK Auditorium
Formed in 1985, Radiohead met at Abingdon School, an independent school for boys in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. The band changed their name to “Radiohead” at the request of the record label EMI. Inspired by the song “Radio Head” on the Talking Heads album True Stories, the band identified with the sense of absorbing information and exploring the way you respond to it. Named one of the 100 greatest artists of all time by Rolling Stone, Radiohead have certainly come a long way.
