From sports bars to rooftops, Philly is no stranger to great places to pull up for a drink. And one of those spots was just given the honor of being named one of the best in America from USA Today‘s annual list!
And it is…drumroll please…Bloomsday Cafe!
Located in the historic Headhouse Square neighborhood, Bloomsday had a special spot in their list of 27, selected from the publication’s network of food writers across the country.
A proud female-led business, Bloomsday is part restaurant/part bar/part wine shop, but don’t feel like you have to know tannins and terroir to visit. Bloomsday prides itself on making wine accessible, and doesn’t “do fussy.”
USA Today said, “this charming pub dresses like the hottest wine bar in town, but the staff will remember your name, your seating preference and your drink.” Some highlights from the spot include: Bloomsday’s take on our “Citywide Special” that changes each month, the happy hour tinned fish of the day, and the chips and dip with caviar. There’s also brunch Wednesday through Sunday!
Besides delicious food and drink, Bloomsday serves as a community gathering space as well — with a wine club, events like high teas, “thirsty Thursdays,” cookie decorating parties and book club meetings.
