
Spring is has officially sprung! The nice weather is starting to emerge, and more people are looking to be outside enjoying it. With so many things happening in the city, here’s your chance to make it the most sensational season ever. 1. Skating At the Rothman Orthopaedics Roller Rink
Located downtown in Philly’s Dilworth Plaza, the roller rink brings all the fun and all the nostalgia. Fresh off a sensational winter season of ice skating, the rink will reopen for the spring season this April. The roller rink is usually open weekly from Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11:15 p.m. This is a family-friendly venue open to all ages. The cost for children 10 and younger is $8, and $10 for adults; the roller skate rental is $6. Additionally, the rink has special matinee days Mondays and Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with $5 off admission. There’s plenty of themed events, live DJs, and loads of fun during the outdoor skating season so add this to the top of your bucket list and skate away!

2-10. Enjoy a beautiful candlelight concert
This spring is the perfect time to enjoy one of Philadelphia’s most talked-about experiences. Presented by FEVER, Candlelight Concerts brings some of the most iconic scores by timeless artists to life in a unique way. Enjoy the sounds of Whitney Houston, Coldplay, Beyoncé, Adele and more in stunning locations throughout the city. Moreover, you’re surrounded by hundreds of flickering candles. 11. See the mesmerizing Astra Lumina before it’s gone

12. Spring Blooms at Longwood Gardens
There’s no better way to stop and smell the flowers than by visiting Longwood Gardens for their annual Spring Bloom. Enjoy the pleasantly fragrant tulip fields or wisps of wisteria and more. 13. Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival

The annual Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival returns this April to Fairmount Park. This family-friendly festival celebrates Japanese arts, culture, and cuisine. Not to mention, it is a celebration of the Japanese Cherry Blossom, the Sakura. Check out our planning guide to this year’s festival here.

14. Spring bucket list: Strawberry Festival at Peddler’s Village

Sprinkle in some sweetness onto your spring bucket list. All in all, no other fruit quite represents spring more than the sweet Strawberry. For this reason, here’s your time to celebrate its goodness. The Strawberry Festival at Peddler’s Village takes place on Saturday & Sunday, May 3 & 4 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. This one-of-a-kind festival has been bringing together strawberry lovers since 1978. Festival goers can enjoy strawberry-themed food, beverages, live music, food trucks, kids’ activities, and shop specials. Strawberry-themed food and drink specials are also served. This is a rain or shine event however, no matter the weather, it’s sure to be berry sweet!

15. Spring bucket list: eat a 3-course dinner completely blindfolded

Are you brave enough to indulge in a delicious 3-course meal without seeing what you’re eating? Dining in the Dark is one immersive experience taking Philadelphia by storm. The experience takes place 52 stories up at the elevated Pyramid Club surrounding by stunning views of the city. Next, you’ll be seated to begin dinner -completely blindfolded. 16. The Blue Cross Broad Street Run
The Broad Street Run is the embodiment of Philly culture and Spring weather. Philly’s longest street is transformed into a runner’s trail as spectators watch and cheer. Presently now in its 4 decade, this 10-mile race begins in the Logan neighborhood in North Philly all the way down to The Navy Yard in South Philly. Additionally, it’s one of the those Philly traditions you must put on your bucket list. The training run begins April 15 with the official race taking place Sunday April 30, 2023.

17. Attend the largest food truck festival in PA

This is one for the foodies! One of the largest food truck festivals in America and Philadelphia is set to return this April bigger and tastier than ever! Manayunk StrEAT festivals rolls back around Sunday, April 27th, 2025. This family-friendly event features over 70 food trucks and food vendors lining historic Main Street. 18. HBCU Festival At The Mann Center

The first annual HBCU festival is happening at The Mann Center Saturday May 17, 2025, at 11am. This event will feature a day of free events celebrating the spirit and culture of our nation’s Historically Black Colleges & Universities. Enjoy not only marching bands, special guest speakers, but also food trucks, family activities, music classes, panel discussions, a drumline battle. Indeed, there will be a HBCU college fair for prospective students. This is a family-friendly ticketed event sure to be informative and fun. 19. Spring bucket list: Enjoy a car-free Sundays to shop and stroll

Sundays in April just got a whole lot brighter! After a successful pilot in 2024, Center City District is bringing back Open Streets: West Walnut. Enjoy seven blocks of car-free space to shop, stroll, and socialize in Rittenhouse. Additionally, there will be fun activities for the whole family, including the little ones. 20. Spring bucket list: Do it for the culture at the annual Roots Picnic
The annual Roots Picnic returns to Fairmount Park May 31st to June 1st, 2025, with a dynamite line-up. Philly’s own Meek Mill is this year’s headliner alongside other noteworthy acts. Reopening this April for the warm weather season, Spruce Street Harbor Park is a beloved Philly staple. Relax in the lazy hammocks while you catch the spring sunset.
